What Is The One Key Secret To My Success With These Mini-Authority Sites?

hand holidng the keyI know something about you personally that you also know about me.  It has to do with human nature.   We can’t help it.

I know that deep down in the back of your mind you are constantly searching for that one thing, that one key component, that one key secret that will result in your success.

You look for it in other successful people too.

When you hear about someone making a killing on the internet, you start wondering what that person’s secret is.  What is he doing that I am not doing?   I wish I knew that one key factor that would allow me to get the same results he is getting.

Am I right?

You are seeking that “Ah-Hah!” moment where you discover the underlying reason why.

As we search for knowledge about building our businesses we are constantly seeking those “Ah-Hah!” moments where we make a mini-breakthrough about something.   It happens from time to time.   Yet, we never really know if it is going to be a big breakthrough or a little breakthrough.

I want to share one of those key “Ah-Hah!” moments with you right now.   Ready?

Here you go:  The one key underlying secret to why these little authority blogs work so well is because as soon as a person lands on the website, my website makes it completely obvious what benefit it offers and how the visitor is going to get that benefit.

Let that sink in…..write it down and remember it.  Make the benefit your site offers totally obvious to the visitor.

Look at my AuthorityBlogStarterKit.com site again as a good example.   No matter what page you land on when you first arrive at this site, there is a giant headline at the top of every page that screams “How To Build An Authority Site or Blog”.    It is completely obvious that the main benefit of visiting this website is that a person is going to learn about how to do that.   So, if someone is wondering about how to do that, then they are sucked right in and begin reading about it.

Now, don’t get me wrong.   I know this site isn’t perfect.   I know that some people will see that homepage and immediately begin wondering – “What the hell is this guy going to try to sell me?”   Am I right?   Maybe you thought that when you first landed on my site before you realized there was nothing for sale here.   Maybe you are still wondering why the hell I invested so much time and effort into a site like this that I am not making any money from?

But anyway, the one clear thing about this site is that it is all about building an authority site or an authority blog however you word it.   The reason why a person would want to visit this site is pretty darn obvious.   If they want that specific knowledge, then this is the place to come.  Right?

Does your website make your benefit obvious like that?   Does your website scream the primary benefit at the top of its lungs as soon as a visitor lands on your site?

Remember that people are motivated by their own self interests.  They are interested first and foremost in “What’s in it for me?”  They sat down at their computer and began seeking knowledge about something that they believe is going to help them in some way.

They are seeking a benefit.   So build a site that delivers that benefit they are seeking.   And, make it ridiculously obvious that your site offers that benefit.  That way as soon as he lands on your site, you hook him into reading and exploring within it.

And then a month later when his friend asks him about how to learn this stuff, he is going to say, “Hey..check out this site I found..”

Many Great Aspiring Authority Websites Are Missing This Key Component

frustrated man holding laptopWhen I first started spending a lot of time online I used to subscribe to a lot of different blogs.   I would visit them several times each week, some of them as often as every day.

Within a reasonably short period of time I came to realize that I wasn’t really getting what I wanted from those blogs.    Every single one of those blogs would cover a bunch of different somewhat related topics.   Some of those topics were interesting to me and some weren’t.   Over time, it started to feel like I had to search through a lot of uninteresting blog posts to find a few golden nuggets of good information.

It was too inefficient.

The only thing I really wanted from those sites, the whole reason I was there, was to find those golden nuggets of information.   Digging through useless posts to find the golden nuggets is a pain.   Wouldn’t it just be better if the site just contained those golden nuggets and not the rest of the fluff?   It would be better in my opinion.

That is the problem I see with other people who are trying to build authority sites.   Their site has a handful of golden nugget posts scattered in amongst a plethora of “make me yawn” style blog posts about topics I really don’t care about.

It is very hard to find a good reason why you should visit that site in the first place and equally as hard to figure out why you should come back for a second visit.   Do people really want to keep coming back waiting for you to finally post what they were hoping to learn?  No.   They want to get that information right now.

So, why clutter up your site with a bunch of less relevant and less important information that isn’t 100% related to the exact dilemma that this visitor was trying to solve?

They shouldn’t arrive at your site and wonder if you are going to tell them what they really want to know.  It should be really obvious.   The benefit should be perfectly clear.

Make your website scream it at the top of its lungs.

That is why these mini authority sites work.  You are giving people the ultimate source of information about the very topic they want to learn about.  That is what makes these sites authoritative even though nobody has ever heard of your name before.

Where else online can they find that much information about your topic in one place?  You are the authority about that specific topic.  They have to come to your site if they want the best information about that specific thing.   Your site is exactly what they are looking for.
